ピクチャー･ディクショナリーは、写真のように見開きに8～10程度の単語が絵と一緒に紹介されます。
​1回のレッスンでは、見開き3ユニットを学習します:簡単に先週の復習をして、今週の単語について説明し、覚えたり使ったりできるようにします。そして、次週のテーマを確認します。

巻末に付いているCDには、各ページの単語が収録されています。

ご家庭でぜひ保護者の方にご協力いただきたいのは、CDを使って練習をすることです。

絵を見ながら​CDの音声に続いて発音してください。短時間、毎日5分間で十分ですので、ぜひ毎日練習してくださいね。

As children progress through beginning English, they start learning vocabulary with a picture dictionary. Each page in our red Children’s Picture Dictionary has pictures of 8-10 objects and the English word for each.

In a typical class, we go over the vocab of three different pages. First, we quickly review the vocab from the previous week’s lesson. Second, we establish the words for the current lesson. We then develop the words to help the children remember and apply them. Third, we preview the vocab of the next week’s focus.

In the back of the book is a CD with recordings of each word that appears. The most important thing that parents can do to support the students is to encourage them to practice with the CD. There is a table in the back that shows which track numbers correspond with each lesson. Your child should listen to the CD and repeat the vocab while looking at the pictures. It is best to practice daily, even for a short time — 5 minutes a day is plenty.
